Historically the United States has been a nation of immigrants. This certainly holds true today, with people from Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe coming here to live.
It is becoming more and more common for the courts to employ interpreters so that those coming before it can be clearly understood.
If we cannot communicate directly with those referred to us in their language we encourage them and/or the courts, to provide us with an interpreter. Since most of the psychological tests that we administer as part of our evaluation process were standardized on a US population we are well aware that they may not be appropriate for someone from another culture. We take this into consideration in our evaluations.
