Approximately 85% of retarded individuals fall into the category of mild mental retardation. This means that their level of cognitive functioning (i.e. IQ) is between 50 and 70. This is a special population that requires special services.

Individuals with Mild Mental Retardation who display problematic sexual behaviors require a specialized approach due to their cognitive limitations.
