Because Latino sex offenders come from countries with different legal systems, and some Latino offenders have lived in rural areas in their home countries, they have varying degrees of understanding about our criminal justice system or the concept of therapy.
Thus, many Latino sex offenders need some basic education about what is required of them (therapy, GPS, registry, etc.) Since our staff is bilingual, we can not only orient them about the system here (if their attorney or probation officer have not already done this), but we also conduct psychosexual evaluations and therapy in Spanish.
